Working With Us

What's the process for starting a project?

+
You tell us what's broken. We look at it. We tell you honestly whether we can fix it and what it'll cost. If we can't help, we'll tell you that too. No discovery phases that cost $50K. No 47-slide pitch decks. We build a working prototype fast, show you, and iterate. The whole thing usually starts with an email to [email protected].

How long does a typical project take?

+
Depends on scope. A single-page dashboard: days. A full POS system: weeks. A 5-domain ecosystem with 400 pages, AI, and a custom operating system: that took about a year. We don't pad timelines. When we say "two weeks," we mean two weeks, not "two weeks plus three months of scope creep."

Do you work with existing tech stacks?

+
Yes. We'll integrate with whatever you've got. If your existing stack is working and just needs extension, we'll extend it. If your existing stack is a dumpster fire, we'll tell you that, too. We prefer Node.js, PostgreSQL, and Redis because they're battle-tested and our AI systems are built around them, but we're not religious about it.

Who owns the code?

+
You do. Everything we build for you is yours. The code, the data, the infrastructure configs, the deployment scripts. If you want to take it in-house tomorrow, you can. We'll even help with the transition. We stay in business because our work is good, not because leaving is hard.

Technology

Why Node.js instead of [insert trendy framework]?

+
Because it works. Node.js handles concurrent connections beautifully, the npm ecosystem has a package for everything, and JavaScript runs on both server and client. We don't chase trends. We've been running 178 Node.js services with 69+ hours of uptime on commodity hardware. The tech that matters is the tech that stays running at 3 AM.

Why on-premise instead of cloud?

+
Three reasons: cost (our 3-server cluster costs $2,100 total, not $2,100/month), privacy (your data never leaves your building), and control (no vendor can change their pricing and blow up your budget). Cloud makes sense for some things. Running an AI with 70 billion parameters that processes your sensitive business data is not one of them.

How does the AI work?

+
Four AI personalities (EWE, BERKELEY, RAM, BUBO) running on Tesla P40 GPUs via Ollama. 70B+ parameter models running locally. The AI adapts to each user across 5 cognitive levels, has 169 agentic tools that can actually do things (not just chat), and an AI Council that deliberates on complex decisions. All inference happens on your hardware. Zero data sent to OpenAI, Google, or anyone else.

What's UPIP Device OS?

+
A custom operating system based on Alpine Linux with 5 specialized variants: TERMINAL (kiosks), POS (payment systems), IOT (sensors), NODE (GPU servers), and TRUNK (gateways). It's what Kubernetes would be if Kubernetes didn't require a PhD to configure. We call the orchestration layer "EWEnites" and yes, it's a Kubernetes killer.

The Ecosystem

What are the 5 domains?

+
EWEPIP (consumer marketplace + social), Talent Liberation (free career tools), UPIP Company (enterprise B2B), UPIP Academy (education + simulators), and Knuckledragger (builder tools + APIs). They share a design system, cross-domain identity (OMNIA), and a unified AI assistant. One login works everywhere.

What's OMNIA?

+
OMNIA is the cross-domain identity and routing layer. It persists your identity, tracks your journey across all 5 domains, handles persona handoffs between AI personalities, manages 15 worker sectors, and provides a unified hub dashboard. Think of it as the connective tissue that makes 5 separate websites feel like one platform.

Can I use just one part of the ecosystem?

+
Absolutely. Want just the POS system? Take it. Want just the education simulators? Done. Each piece is designed to work standalone or as part of the whole. The ecosystem is modular by design. We're not going to make you buy a game engine to use a scheduling tool.

Pricing

How does pricing work?

+
7 tiers from $0 to $997/month. The free tier is genuinely free — not a trial, not a trick. Paid tiers are flat-rate per organization, not per seat. A company with 5 employees pays the same as a company with 500. The tier you choose depends on which features you need, not how many humans breathe in your office.

Why no per-seat pricing?

+
Because per-seat pricing punishes growth. Hiring 10 people shouldn't mean your software bill goes up $3,000/month. The marginal cost of adding a user to a running system is approximately zero. Charging as if it's expensive is a lie. We don't lie about infrastructure costs.

What if I need something custom?

+
Custom work is quoted per project, not per hour. We'll give you a fixed price before we start. If the scope changes (it always does), we'll re-quote transparently. No surprise invoices. No "we need to discuss change order fees." Just honest numbers for honest work.
